"Commit to Life helped me realize that I was struggling with really understanding how to eat

properly and how to exercise to meet my body’s needs.

I am in my 50’s and dealing with

menopause. I decided a few years ago to eat healthier and exercise more, but despite all my

efforts, I gained a lot of weight , especially in the mid section. I was always tired and was dealing

with so much stiffness and joint pain. I tried all the fad diets and supplements, but nothing

changed. I did succeed losing some weight on one fad diet, but lost so much muscle along with

that. My skin was loose and I didn't feel any better . Then gained it all back .

I am a nurse and I

have a special needs child and a grandchild so I need and desire to be healthy and active. And

boy do I need energy! However, I was exhausted. When I would sit for a minute, I would be so

stiff when I got up to walk and it hurt. I didn't like looking in the mirror anymore and hid from all

the pictures. I became very frustrated. Nothing I tried was helping me! I even tried a program

where you track your macros and exercise but I struggled with balancing it all out and making it

Then one day my cardiologist patted me on the shoulder and told me to work on my BMI. I

just wanted to cry and scream. He offered no real help either. I was honestly just ready to give

up and accept that this was the way it was going to be. Then I found Commit to Life.

membership for years but never went because I felt so insecure when I walked into that gym. I

had no idea of what exercises to do and how to use those machines.
